Jamieson's, the oldest knitwear brand in the Shetland Islands, founded in 1893. It is the original maker of Fair Isle knitwear, also known for being a favorite of the Duke of Windsor, a renowned fashion icon.
Jamieson's uses only "genuine" Shetland wool from sheep in the Shetland Islands and continues to produce knitwear with the traditional Fair Isle design, which originated on Fair Isle, using manufacturing methods unchanged for 120 years. This includes plant dyeing with natural plants such as dungee, yarrow, and ragwort. The beautiful colors produced by plant dyeing, which are said to be unique to Jamieson's, the distinctive geometric patterns using multiple colors, and the rustic texture of genuine Shetland wool, all combine exquisitely to create knitwear that is one of a kind.
